The unmistakable scent of peat leaps out on the nose, balanced on a substantial blanket of sweet, dark, fruit-like malt. The Scotch is in no way overpowering but it makes its presence firmly felt, achieving a truly brilliant balance.

Dry yet subtly-sweet, toasty malts are the first to greet you on the palate with a curious hint of peat on the edges. Then the scotch breaks forward in mid-palate before the finish dials back on letting some more sweet malts come through. An utterly brilliant beer!

Ola Dubh (‘Black Oil’) is a collaboration beer between us and Highland Park Distillery. To create Ola Dubh 18, we mature our award-winning Old Engine Oil in whisky casks that have formerly held Highland Park 18.
