What We’re Drinking: Modist Springforge DDH Pilsner

April 9, 2026

Everyone that knows me knows that I’m a sucker for hopped up Pilsners. I believe the world needs more hoppy Pilsners. And my mission, from our little corner of Minneapolis, is to spread The Gospel of Hoppy Pilsners to the thirsty masses. Our Friends at Modist Brewing agree with me.

For the last few years, Modist has been dropping their modern takes on what craft Pilsner can be into the Twin Cities market: Fang & Bone, Everdream, the entire Last of the Best series, our 3 exclusive Foeder 44 Unfiltered Pilsners. The List goes on and on. We love them all.

Their latest Pilsner release is Springforge. They just dropped a fresh, second batch because the first batch sold out so quickly. Springforge is an unfiltered, double dry hopped West Coast Style Pilsner with double the amount of El Dorado, Idaho 7 and Mosaic Cyro hops stuffed in it. Lots of citrus (lemon/lime/tart tangerine) jump out on the nose, with subtle tropical notes on the palate. It ends with a clean, slightly piney, bitter hop finish. It has all that I’m looking for: clean and bright, with great hop fruit and a rigid backbone of snappy hops. It’s an absolute crusher.

Stacked up in our walk-in cooler, just waiting for you to take it home.
