Compensation
In addition to paying a living wage to all employees, all employees are eligible for our 401(k) plan with up to 5% matching, paid time off, paid uniforms, and employee discounts. Cashier / Wines & Spirits
Cashier – France 44 Wines & Spirits
France 44 Wines & Spirits is searching for a hardworking individual who is enthusiastic about customer service to join our team as a full- or part-time cashier. Ideally, this individual has some knowledge about beer, wine and spirits and is interested in learning more. Availability to work evenings, weekends and during busy holiday times is a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Process sales transactions using the Lightspeed point-of-sale (POS) system
- Verify customer identification to ensure compliance with all alcohol sales laws and regulations
- Knowing when to refuse a purchase to someone who is obviously intoxicated or clearly unfit to purchase
- Handle cash, credit/debit, and mobile payments accurately
- Assist customers in locating products and answering basic questions about beverages
- Promote and sell Club 44 memberships
- Promote Wine of the Month/Cheese of the Month clubs, catering, classes and events
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store and checkout area
- Assist other departments within the business when directed
- Monitor store for potential fraudulent payment, theft or suspicious activity and report concerns to management
- Follow all local and state laws regarding alcohol sales
- Balance the cash register at the end of shifts
Qualifications:
- Must meet the legal age requirement to sell alcohol
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous retail or cashier experience is a plus
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits
- Experience with POS systems and inventory management
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods

Cheesemonger / Cheese Shop Retail Associate
The France 44 Cheese Shop is searching for folks interested in food who are passionate about customer service.
Maybe you’re a restaurant server tired of late nights or you’re itching to learn more about artisan cheese, house-made charcuterie, and incredible sandwiches. Details of the Job:
- Participates in creating an atmosphere of outstanding hospitality by greeting customers enthusiastically and with a smile as they enter the shop and being an excellent teammate to your co-workers
- Work in a fast-paced environment with patience and kindness
- Positively respond to direction and requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers and guests
- Takes initiative to help any area of the shop if possible
- Assist customers in placing an order for a sandwich or salad
- Make beautiful food to specifications
- Learn about the specialty products we sell in our stores, including: artisan cheese, cured meats, whole animal cuts of meat, and pantry products (ie. oils, vinegars, pasta, etc)
- Assemble cheese and charcuterie trays as necessary
- Perform side work tasks to keep our shop humming
- Answer the phone! Take messages or find the right person to the answer the question (if you don’t know it)
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop including merchandising cheese, and other items in the retail space
- Learn/maintain food safety standards required of a safety-inspected food environment
