For 2025, my New Year’s resolution was to eat more breadcrumbs. Because what could possibly make a dish taste better than a sprinkle of garlicky, crunchy breadcrumbs? Caesar salad? Spaghetti aglio e olio? Yes.
For 2026, I’m moving on to bubbles. None of us are drinking enough bubbles. Yes, this is a perfect moment to talk about bubbles as we ring in the new year, yes, a great way to remind you that all sparkling wine is 10% off from 12/27-12/31, but after this week, KEEP DRINKING BUBBLES. Open a bottle of champagne with your book club on a Tuesday. Order a glass of prosecco at a restaurant. Because you can. If you’d drink a glass of wine, why not drink a glass of sparkling wine?
So what am I drinking this New Year’s Eve? Bubbles, duh! This year, I’m taking home a bottle of Brundlmayer Brut Rosé from Austria, a wine I was lucky enough to taste while taking in the scenery at the winery’s stunning rooftop this past spring. For New Year’s Eve, I’m looking for a special bottle that brings back happy memories and makes the night feel special. At $65.99 a bottle, this isn’t an everyday bottle for me, it’s a special occasion bottle fit for a sparkly midnight toast.
