What We’re Drinking: Primi Pilsner

August 27, 2025

For me when you say “beer” the first thing that pops into my head is “PILSNER”

Clean, easy drinking, that lovely kick of bitterness at the end, and they pour like liquid gold (which, in my opinion, is an accurate description of pilsners)

I’m also a pretty big fan of the things Italy has contributed to our society – Pizza, Franciacorta, Ferraris…

So when I stumbled upon Italian Style Pilsners, you can imagine my delight. Currently I’m stuck on Primi – an Italian pils from Junkyard Brewing up in Moorhead, MN. It’s very grain forward, has a little more of a hop bite, and some subtle earthiness all wrapped up in a 16oz can. Pairs well with cannoli, good friends, and your pasta of choice. Pour it, and be careful not to talk with your hands while enjoying.

Arrivederci!

Stephen can typically be found somewhere in the Beer Cave, stocking, making recommendations, and occasionally hitting his head ducking in and out. An advocate for Pilsners, West Coast IPAs, and the occasional Hazy, you’ll also typically find some Chenin Blanc or Vinho Verde in the fridge. When not slingin’ beer, you can find him working on playlists, playing driving sim games, or watching F1 races (just don’t ask how Ferrari is doing, grazie mille)
