My New Year’s Resolution: Drink More Bubbles!

December 29, 2025

For 2025, my New Year’s resolution was to eat more breadcrumbs. Because what could possibly make a dish taste better than a sprinkle of garlicky, crunchy breadcrumbs? Caesar salad? Spaghetti aglio e olio? Yes.

For 2026, I’m moving on to bubbles. None of us are drinking enough bubbles. Yes, this is a perfect moment to talk about bubbles as we ring in the new year, yes, a great way to remind you that all sparkling wine is 10% off today, but after this weekend, KEEP DRINKING BUBBLES. Open a bottle of champagne with your book club on a Tuesday. Order a glass of prosecco at a restaurant. Because you can. If you’d drink a glass of wine, why not drink a glass of sparkling wine?

So what am I drinking this New Year’s Eve? Bubbles, duh! This year, I’m taking home a bottle of Brundlemayer Brut Rosé from Austria, a wine I was lucky enough to taste while taking in the scenery at the winery’s stunning rooftop this past spring. For New Year’s Eve, I’m looking for a special bottle that brings back happy memories and makes the night feel special. At $65.99 a bottle, this isn’t an everyday bottle for me, it’s a special occasion bottle fit for a sparkly midnight toast.

We asked a few of our friends on the wine team which bubbles they’re drinking this NYE, here’s what they said:

My New Year’s Resolution: Drink More Bubbles!

Rick: Bertrand-Delespierre Enfant de la Montagne 1er Cru Brut NV

Rick discovered the Bertrand-Delespierre Champagne on a trip to France and secured a limited allotment for the season. The wine has complex, lemony, citrus aromas on the nose, with a light toastiness and subtle floral character. It ends with a long, spicy finish. This is the perfect champagne to pair with festive, soft cheeses for a New Year’s Eve toast.

Olivia: Keush Origins Brut

“Bring in the new year with a bottle of bubbles all the way from Armenia! Keush Origins Brut is made from indigenous grapes grown in high elevation vineyards and vinified in the traditional method with a minimum of 24 months on the lees. Pop the cork on this crisp sparkling wine with flavors of apple and citrus to celebrate!”

Joy: Nicole Chanrion Effervescence Brut Beaujolais NV

“I love this Effervescence sparkling wine made from 100% Gamay from Brouilly. Since I’ve enjoyed it many times this year, it’s going to be the bottle I celebrate the New Year with. Bright and refreshing, with balanced notes of bread, yeast, blossom, and apple. Truly beauty in a bottle!”

TK: Charles Le Bel 1818

“If you want something more budget-friendly, go with Charles Le Bel 1818 for $52.99, my all-time favorite! This Champagne is full of vibrant fruit, crisp acidity, and a touch of brioche, which makes it feel super festive. Joyful and elegant, it’s the perfect bottle to celebrate the New Year – you can’t go wrong with this one!”
