What We’re Drinking: Oka Gin-ger + Tonic

I want to highlight a relatively new gin to our catalogue and give it a fun spin. We’re well into Gin & Tonic season, and with this heat I think we could all use a good refreshing drink.

Oka is a lovely Japanese gin that uses Japanese juniper, which has a deeper, richer flavor than traditional European gins, and has intense notes of ginger and citrus. It’s also an incredible value for the 900ml bottle, at only 24.99!

Given the notes of ginger, I decided to play around with what I now like to call the “Gin-ger & Tonic,” which is simply a Gin & Tonic using Oka with a dash of Earl Giles Ginger Syrup mixed in. It’s a refreshing summer drink with a bit of a kick from the ginger, which I think is an ingredient that deserves more love in the cocktail world. I’m always a fan of experimenting with new flavor profiles in classic drinks, and I hope you will be too!
