Nikka Coffey Gin is Back Plus Two New Summer Gins!

Nikka Coffey Gin $39.99

That’s right: Nikka Coffey Gin is back for the second half of summer! Sold out in the state for the past half year, it has made a comeback for your taste buds while the weather is still beautiful. Japan and more specifically Nikka is much better known for their lineup of whiskies, they hit the scene with a new gin and vodka last fall as part of their Coffey lineup. Coffey, you ask? It definitely has nothing to do with the bitter coffee we drink in the mornings, but has everything to do with continuous still they use which was patented by a man named Aeneas Coffey in the 1830s. They make award winning grain and malt whiskies on these stills along with gin and vodka that all seem to have a similar structure: a robust nose, an oily palate, and an evaporating finish that lingers and fills your mouth with all of the secondary flavors. Nikka Coffey Gin is filled with very unique and clearly Japanese botanicals of Yuzu up front, Sansho Pepper on the finish, with a citrusy mélange of Amanatsu, an orange hybrid and Kabosu, a citrus fruit akin to a lemon or a lime. This is a silky citrusy gin best for a gin and tonic, martini with a twist, or a vesper. Get it while you can, limited supplies for now!
