I’m not too much of a drinker these days, but when I do reach for a bottle, I want it to be something with a lot of character. The Tempus Fugit liqueurs have quietly become some of my favorites. Their spirits don’t feel like anonymous mixers or afterthoughts, Tempus Fugit liqueurs are recreations of rare historical products from pre-prohibition times.
One of my favorites is the Crème de Noyaux. It looks like a novelty – bright pink with an almost theatrical label. But it’s also complex, with an old-world almond and stone fruit warmth and some bitter notes that peek through the sweetness.
This liqueur isn’t something you throw in a blender with ice, it’s something you pour carefully, maybe over a big cube, maybe in a classic Pink Squirrel (with crème de cacao liqueur and heavy cream). It’s a great reminder that drinking, when done intentionally, can feel like a small ritual rather than a habit.
